There is no getting around the fact that a honeymoon is going to be expensive, this can be a problem coming right after an expensive wedding. Most couples will fly to their honeymoon but there are other options. Regardless of how you plan to get there you are going to want to make sure that you make the travel arrangements well in advance. You will likely want to shop around online to make sure that you are getting the best price that you can on transportation, you can usually find some good deals on flights if you look hard enough.
The next big expense that you will need to budget for on your honeymoon will be accommodation. In reality this usually turns out to be the biggest expense. It is also however the place where you can make the biggest savings if you need to. There is a huge range of hotel options in almost any honeymoon destination. That being said you probably are not going to want to spend your honeymoon in a cheap motel. You will likely want to look mainly at mid to upper range hotels so you will need to budget a fair amount for this part of the trip.
The last thing that you are going to have to think about when you are planning your honeymoon is what you are going to do when you get there. There are a lot of different activities that you can do on your honeymoon so you will want to make sure that you have this accounted for in your budget. In some cases you will be able to book these activities ahead of time so you will know exactly how much they will cost. In other cases you will need to pay for them when they get there so you will need to have some flexibility in your budget.
