Fiji
One of the first big decisions that a married couple has to make is where to go for the honeymoon. There are a lot of great places that they can choose from, one of them is Fiji. It consistently ranks as one of the top honeymoon destinations and it attracts lots of couples every year.
When it comes to places to spend your honeymoon there are few better options than Fiji. As a chain of more than three hundred islands there is something there for everybody. Some of the islands are of course more popular than others with tourists and most of them tend to stick to the resorts on these islands. For a couple on their honeymoon spending time at a resort may not be the best option. If you get away from the main islands however you can find locations that tourists never go to.
When people think of a tropical island there are certain things that they always imagine, great beaches, palm trees stuff like that, this is exactly what Fiji has to offer. Really you would be hard pressed to find a place that matches the image better. Most people who go to Fiji will spend the bulk of their time on the beach however there is plenty of other stuff to do. If you move into the interior of the islands for example there is lots of interesting wildlife to see. A hike through the jungle can be a great way to spend a day during your honeymoon, especially if you want to do something a little bit different.
While Fiji is a great honeymoon spot it does have a few disadvantages, the biggest is its location. It is in the Indian Ocean which means that it is a long way from North America or Europe. This tends to limit the number of people who make the trip. That is not a bad thing of course since it limits the number of other tourists that you will encounter but you do have to be prepared to make a long trip to get there. Because of the distances that involved it can also be an expensive place to visit.
Despite the distance that you have to travel to get to Fiji a lot of people do make the trip. That means that all of the stuff that you would expect in a popular tourist destination is there. The big resorts have top class hotels as well as restaurants and night clubs. There are also spas where you can be pampered. On the other hand once you get away from the resorts you will find that things are very different and there will not be a lot of the stuff that you find at a major tourist spot. This can of course be a major attraction for a lot of people.
